In May 1997 it was not an every day issue anymore, that passenger trains on Ostbahn were hauled by ST44, like years before. Thanks to the SU45's, which replace the Romanian wrecks of SP32 since 1995 - the passenger services between Kostrzyn and Krzyz became stable. On 17.05.1997 SP32-133 or 086 (if I remember right) died on duty and was replaced by ST44-1098 for taking the train back to Kostrzyn. |
